Responsibility of taking charge after HM's Resignation

Please let me know Who is responsible for taking the charge if H.M of a school resign from his office ? Is it mandatory for AHM to take the charge after H.M's resignation? Any recent circular plz.

As far as it under The Act Management of Aided Schools ,WB,1963, the M.C. has the sole power to decide an elligible & competant incumbent to act as T.I.C.
may he/she not be A.H.M.
